Isn’t it about…time?

We finally took Zach and Preston’s 4 and 6 year old pictures.  It’s funny how I get so busy doing other people’s picture that I almost forget my own kids!

Preston was sick the day I took his, but he was a trooper!  I just should have been wise and waited.  Oh well, he’s still one handsome guy!

And Zach was so funny!  He kept making faces trying to make me laugh.  I thought that was my job!  I’m suposed to be getting him to smile!

There are  a couple more pictures of each of them on the photoblog!

Those were the first words out of Zach’s mouth when he saw this picture:

Guess my kids think that’s what pictures are for!

And speaking of Zach, he got his first little “love/like letter” at school the other day.  It made both Mike and me smile.  It’s so fun to watch your kids grow up!  There is a little girl that keeps bringing pencils and things like that to school to give to Zach as gifts.  Everyday he comes home with something new that Brittany gave him.  :> Then last week he brought home this note:

 Too cute!

We love St. Patricks Day at our house.  It’s one of those low stress, totally optional, not a big production holidays.  What could be better than that?

We have a couple St. Patricks Day traditions that my kids know they can count on (other than wearing green) - both revolving around food.  First, we eat green pancakes and green milk for breakfast.  Zach woke up this morning and said “I know what’s for breakfast!”  And he was so excited!  It takes a couple times to get over green milk, but now we’re all good.

Then for dinner we always eat Green Eggs and Ham.  My kids are rarely as excited for dinner as they are on St. Patricks Day!  Gotta love traditions!  (Even super simple ones like this!) st-5

We would eat it in a box.

We would eat it with a fox.

We would eat it here or there.

We would eat it ANYWHERE!

Other then our fun food, the boys got St. Patricks Day cards from Grandma and Grandpa Oveson that they were way excited about, we read some fun St. Patricks Day books, and just had a fabulous Irish Day!

Oh, and Zach was the Linx 200 (I think that’s what it’s called) winner at school today, so he had an even better day!  Way to go Zach!!

Today was Reptile Day at preschool!

And in honor of reptile day, my sweet sister brought 2 of her snakes to share with our preschool kids!  We really really appreciate it because she had sick kids and a million of her own things to do.  We told her she didn’t have to, but boy are we glad she did!  The kids LOVED them! (The moms on the other hand were a little unsure!)  It was awesome!  Thanks Liz (and Ty, Nick, and Lucas)!

Since Mike was out of town and we needed a change of scenery, we decided to spend Saturday down at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.  What a fun day it was!  Here are a few of the picture highlights!  The boys favorite part was when Grandpa Don was throwing them.  They are still talking about it!

The other exciting thing that happened down there was that we gave Kyle his first hair cut!  Yeah, he doesn’t have much hair, but the hair he does have was getting pretty shaggy.  I was worried he would be upset about the whole thing because my other boys were.  In fact Preston still thinks you are trying to KILL him everytime you cut his hair.   So I had good reason to be worried.  But Ky was perfect!  He was happy the whole time and it was actually a very enjoyable experience.  I couldn’t resist pulling Preston in to show him how much Kyle was enjoying it.  Thanks for your help Grandma!  It left my hands free to take these fun pictures!

Preston has the cutest little dance we call the “Pressy Dance.”  It cracks me up everytime.  We have some video of it, but I don’t know how to post video…. (yes, my husband is the technical half of my brain).   BUT, I did get some cute pictures of it the other day and I just had to share.  I think you can get the general idea…

Last week was a very exciting time for WALKING at our house!!  Preston can finally walk!!!!  HOORAY!!  He is so glad to be moving around, and I’m so glad to not be carrying him everywhere!

But we don’t just have one walker.  Oh no… we have 2 new walkers!!  Kyle took his first steps last week (first 3 steps to be exact)!!!!  HOORAY for Kyle!!  Here’s a picture of my awesomely mobil boys!

Sometimes I feel like there is never a dull moment around our house.  When I first quit work to stay home with my kids everyone told me I would get way too bored, and I would be back within 6 months.  Now 6 years later I’m still waiting for the boredom to set in.   There’s always something!  And I have to say, I have LOVED staying home!  It’s the best thing in the world!

So here’s one of our latest “never a dull moment” moments.  I was strapping the kids in the van after their dentist appointments on Monday and all of a sudden we heard a loud POP and then back side window shattered everywhere!  It just blew out – for no apparent reason!  Zach was sitting next to it and was covered in glass (but luckily not cut), an it even made it up into the other boys seats in the middle of the van.  It was nuts!  I the boys were shocked at first, and then they thought it was really cool to drive home with no window.  I tell you – never a dull moment!

The door got a little messed up too when I tried to shut it on the glass, so here’s Mike trying to fix that and tape up my window until we get it fixed.   Nutty!
